The board for this 2-player game is a 6x6 board composed of movable 3x3 sub-boards. The rules are very simple -- place a piece of your color on an unoccupied square, then choose any one of the 3x3 sub-boards and rotate it 90 degrees. If any 5 of your placed pieces are in a row (orthogonally or diagonally, you win).

I'm pleasantly surprised that the little board rotation is all that's needed to make 5-in-a-row on a small board work. Me and another player went slowly through a game, trying to analyze the tactics and threats. We had a sequence where we were able to conclude that one player had a forced win after 10 moves or so! That was pretty satisfying, and was enough to convince me that this game actually does work.
