HAPPY HOUR THIS WEEK:  Come share a beer (or other beverage) with

Look for Rice Alumni napkins on the table.  We try to take over the
back room, but sometimes other people pre-empt us.

WINE TASTING AND DATA ANALYSIS:  Fri Nov 18 at my house.  Bring a bottle
of wine.  We'll put them in paper bags so you can sample anonymously,
figure out what you like, and at the end of the night we'll tally up
price versus popularity and whatever other statistics I deem worthy (or
you suggest).  3503 NE 43rd St, Seattle, WA 98105, about a mile from the

RICE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:  Sat Nov 26, 12:30pm:  Lady Owls basketball
game.  Tickets are $12 each.  If you'd like me to buy tickets for you,
let me know two weeks earlier (by 11:59pm Sunday Nov 13).  You can also
purchase them at the door.  I'll send out an email shortly to those of
you who have already requested them, so you'll know you've been counted.
