Subject: RAIN: Thurs Aug 26, happy hour with Rice alumni

Dear Rice Alumnus/a In the Northwest,

Come drink beer, eat food, and share in conversation with fellow Rice
alumni!  Our next happy hour shall be:

In the vote to determine whether Thursday or Friday is a better night,
we had a tie.  This includes the two of people who said: "I prefer X but
either will do" (one voted Thu, one voted Fri).  Voter turnout was 1% of
the mailing list.  This is a perfect example of why every vote counts,
and why you should register to vote in November.  So I cast my own
arbitrary vote, motivated by alumni reminiscing of Thursday night Beer
Bike practices.
