Dear Rice Alumnus or Alumna!

Once upon a time in the beautiful city of Seattle, Rice alums gathered
monthly over beer.  I would like to resurrect the tradition.

Let's do the first meeting at the location of the days of yore:
 Roanoke Tavern
 2409 10th Ave. E
 on the north end of Capitol Hill

 Friday, July 30, 2004
 7:00pm 'til you're ready to drive home

I'll plan to repeat the event on the last Friday of every month.  If
that time doesn't suit you, email me when would be better.  If enough
people prefer a different day, we'll switch.

There was once also a name: R.A.I.N.  Rice Alumni In the Northwest.
I've to swiped that name and stuck it on a webpage.  Thus, you can see
when the next get-together will be and find a link to a map.

I hope to see you there!  I'll put a Rice sign on the table and try to
wear something that says Rice on it.

P.S. Some administrative stuff:  I got your name and email address
through the online Rice alumni directory.  It lists you as residing or
working in Seattle, Redmond, Bellevue, or Kirkland.  I expect to be
sending out about one email per month.  Please email me if you'd
rather not receive my mailings, would prefer that I send them to a
different address, or know any Rice alums who may wish to be added to
my list.
